A Path to Dignity: The Power of Human Rights Education

“A Path to Dignity: The Power of Human Rights Education” is a 28-minute film that illustrates the transformative impact of human rights education through three stories: schoolchildren in India, law enforcement agencies in Australia and survivors of domestic violence in Turkey.

Jointly produced in 2011 by Human Rights Education Associates (HREA), the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) and the Soka Gakkai International (SGI), the film serves as a tool to raise awareness of the importance of human rights education in making human rights accessible to everyone.

“A Path to Dignity” also highlights the significance of United Nations instruments and frameworks, such as the World Programme for Human Rights Education (2005-ongoing), in advancing human rights education and includes interviews with the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights and the President of Costa Rica.

It is available in English, traditional and simplified Chinese, Spanish, French, Arabic, German, Japanese and Russian.
