On August 31, Soka Gakkai members in Malta held a ceremony in the capital, Valletta, commemorating the establishment of the first chapter in the country. Mario Vicinanza and Monica Izzo were appointed as chapter leaders. The event, which was attended by SGI Europe Cochair Suzanne Pritchard, was also broadcast online to other venues.
