On January 11, the sixth Soka Gakkai Headquarters Leaders Meeting of the seven-year period leading up to the Soka Gakkai’s centennial in 2030 was held in Tokyo. The meeting was attended by 99 leaders from 14 countries and territories who were visiting Japan for a training course. In his speech, Soka Gakkai President Minoru Harada emphasized that the philosophy of human revolution—the inner transformation of the individual—is key to humanity's future.

During the meeting, Masami Nasu was introduced as the newly appointed national women’s division leader of the organization in Japan, succeeding Kimiko Nagaishi, also newly appointed as women’s division general leader in Japan.
