Soka Gakkai Donates in Support of Humanitarian Assistance for Myanmar

On April 15, in response to the magnitude 7.7 earthquake that struck central Myanmar on March 28, the Soka Gakkai donated a total of four million yen (approximately US$26,000) to support humanitarian assistance efforts. The donation was made to the NGO Japan Platform and to Japan for UNHCR, the official association in Japan that supports the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees. On April 9 and 10, Soka Gakkai representatives visited the Tokyo offices of both organizations.
