Global 2024

On August 24, the Seikyo Shimbun announced that The Club of Rome and the Soka Gakkai have launched a project titled “It’s Time for a Human Revolution.” The project marks the 40th anniversary of Before It Is Too Late, a dialogue between The Club of Rome Cofounder Aurelio Peccei and President Daisaku Ikeda, and the 45th anniversary of the No Limits to Learning report to The Club of Rome. The joint project, involving The Club of Rome’s Fifth Element initiative, will focus on youth engagement, social media outreach and academic research in promoting the shared message of human revolution.

On August 27, The Club of Rome, the Fifth Element, the Centre for Applied Buddhism, SGI-UK and the Soka Gakkai cohosted a webinar titled “It's time for a Human Revolution! Sparking action through inner transformation and mutual learning.” Speakers included Carlos Álvarez Pereira, secretary general of The Club of Rome, Dr. Mamphela Ramphele, former co-president of The Club of Rome, and Robert Harrap, cochair of SGI Europe.
