SGI and UNHCR Organize Side Event at Global Consultations

From June 11 to 13, SGI (Soka Gakkai International) representatives participated in the 2024 UNHCR (United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees) Global Consultations with NGOs in Geneva, Switzerland. On June 12, UNHCR and the SGI co-organized a side event titled "Building bridges through good practices.” Chiara Cardoletti, UNHCR Representative for Italy, and Chiara Marchetti of CIAC, an Italian NGO providing support to refugees, shared insights on the UNHCR Community Matching project supported by Soka Gakkai Italy through “eight per thousand” funds. Laura Hassler, founder and director of Musicians Without Borders, reported on the Music Brings Us Together program in Jordan that is supported by the Soka Gakkai.
