SGI Signs Interfaith Statement Calling for Climate Action

On May 26, a joint statement signed by the SGI (Soka Gakkai International) along with 136 other faith-based organizations was released ahead of Stockholm+50, a meeting of world leaders convened by the UN in Sweden from June 2 to 3. The statement calls on governments, UN agencies and others to adopt of a new development paradigm that integrates moral, spiritual and indigenous values to achieve a healthy environment. Stockholm+50 commemorates the 50th anniversary of the landmark UN Conference on the Human Environment that took place in Stockholm, Sweden, in 1972.
