Youth Summit on Renunciation of War Held in Okinawa

On August 19 and 20, the 32nd Youth Summit on the Renunciation of War was held in Okinawa, Japan. Youth delegates from across Japan participated. The youth visited the Okinawa World Peace Monument at the Soka Gakkai Okinawa Training Center in Onna Village. They also visited the Peace Memorial Park in Itoman City and laid a wreath at the Cornerstone of Peace memorial, where the names of those who died in the Battle of Okinawa are engraved. President Daisaku Ikeda sent a message emphasizing the importance of raising the voice of civil society for peace and encouraging youth to create momentum for a world without nuclear weapons.
