On April 17, together with Amnesty International and the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR), the SGI (Soka Gakkai International) co-organized a side event at the 2024 Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) Youth Forum at the UN Headquarters in New York. During the event, titled “Towards peaceful and inclusive societies: human rights education for, with and by youth,” Kate Moriarty of Amnesty International introduced a documentary “Changemakers: Stories of Young Human Rights Educators,” jointly developed by Amnesty International, OHCHR and the SGI. Two educators from the film spoke at the event and highlighted how human rights education can empower youth in vulnerable situations.
