From October 18 to 20, the Min-On Music Research Institute (MOMRI) held an international symposium at the Min-On Culture Center in Tokyo to mark the 10th anniversary of its establishment. At the opening event, Nigerian musician Gideon Danja spoke on the importance of preserving traditional music to promote peace and solidarity in local communities. The conference featured discussions between researchers from six countries and MOMRI Director Olivier Urbain on music and peacebuilding.

MOMRI shares the founding principles of the Min-On Concert Association, a Soka Gakkai affiliate that promotes the global exchange of musical culture, recognizing music’s power to unite hearts across diverse cultures and create peace.
