On September 21, representing the NGO Working Group on Human Rights Education and Learning, Elisa Gazzotti of the SGI Office for UN Affairs delivered an oral statement during the 54th session of the Human Rights Council (HRC54) at the UN Office at Geneva. The statement conveyed the recommendation that the fifth phase of the World Programme for Human Rights Education focus specifically on youth from the most marginalized communities who are often overlooked, including but not limited to refugees, migrants, internally displaced persons, LGBTIQ+, indigenous youth, youth with disabilities, youth in extreme poverty and youth of the Global South.
