Donations following Morocco Earthquake and Libya Floods

Japan 2023

On September 19, the Soka Gakkai donated three million yen (US$20,225) to the Embassy of the Kingdom of Morocco in Japan, contributing to emergency humanitarian assistance to those affected by the recent magnitude 6.8 earthquake that struck Morocco’s Marrakesh–Safi region. The organization also donated an initial one million yen (US$6,741) to the Japanese Red Cross Society’s 2023 Libya Flood Relief Fund, following the recent flooding that devastated the city of Derna when heavy rainfall led to the collapse of two upriver dams.
