SGI Representative Selected as UNEP Faith for Earth Interfaith Women Council Member

Lucy Plummer of the SGI Office for UN Affairs has been selected as one of the 24 members of the newly-formed United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) Faith for Earth Interfaith Women Council. The council brings together faith and interfaith women leaders to amplify women’s voices in faith-based environmental action.

On January 30, the council held its inaugural meeting online with UN Under-Secretary-General and UNEP Executive Director Inger Andersen in attendance. During the meeting, Ms. Plummer highlighted the crucial role that people of faith play in fostering the grassroots solidarity essential for achieving the sustainable development goals.
