SGI Representative Joins UN Conference on Disaster Risk Reduction

From October 14 to 18, Nobuyuki Asai, director for Sustainable Development and Humanitarian Affairs of the SGI (Soka Gakkai International), participated in the 2024 Asia-Pacific Ministerial Conference on Disaster Risk Reduction in Manila. On October 17, Mr. Asai gave a presentation titled “Religious organizations' unique contribution to preparedness and relief.” He shared on relief efforts undertaken by religious organizations following the 7.6 magnitude 2024 Noto Peninsula Earthquake that hit Ishikawa Prefecture and surrounding areas of Central Japan on January 1.
